March 2021
Today is an exciting day for the African tech ecosystem.Ā Flutterwave announced their $170 million round led by Tiger Global and Avenir, making it Rabaās first pre-seed to āunicornā company.Ā More important than the valuation alone, this is an incredible moment and message to founders across the continent to continue to build great products and services.
I believe this is one of those seminal moments.
I spoke to Flutterwaveās CEO Olugbenga Agboola early this morning, and it was right back to business.Ā He acknowledged the funding round for what it is, one more step toward realizing the vision of building Flutterwave into a global business by powering African tech.
